Das Urteil fällt, und duftend Wasser flieβt,

Sieh da, ein Mensch! Wir alle sind nur Menschen.
Wo ist dein Gott? Bist du dein eig´ner Gott?
Ist es der Kaiser? Ist es Luzifer?
Wenn du wie der Gerichtete so tapfer
und selbstlos andern dich zum Opfer gibst,
so bist du rein von allem Götzendienst.
Doch kannst du wohl wie Christus Opfer sein?
Sein Opfer ist ganz rein, ganz groβ, ganz voll,
ganz unermeβlich heilig: Gottes Opfer.
Drum fange du statt des Gerichtshofs Pflaster
des Lammes Blut in deinen Händen auf
und trink es in dein leeres, dürres Herz,
damit du Anteil hast an der Erlösung,
an dem Erlöser aller Welt, an Gott.
